Adapt Lifestyle Lodge is a mountain top retreat providing a break away from it all where you will be our only guest for a completely tailormade experience. Situated in Ninderry, 15 minutes from Coolum Beach and 5 minutes from the Bruce Highway, it is an ideal base to discover something new on the Sunshine Coast. All rooms have full mountain views extending through national parkland to Noosa Northshore. Our Lifestyle Lodge has won the Australian Architects House Award, national interior design awards and been featured in Australian home style magazines – but the real winner is our warm welcome to you.
You are encouraged to spend time cooking with us in our design award winning kitchen and working or sitting in our kitchen garden.
If you have had a sudden change in your care arrangements or needs, emergency respite can be provided at our Adapt Lifestyle Lodge.
We are an approved respite accommodation provider for the Australian Government Carer Gateway www.carergateway.gov.au
This means we have met the high standards required for Carer Gateway to confidently refer us to you.
Stay with Confidence:
Our guests and their carers can often be anxious about being apart or being in a new environment. At the lifestyle lodge, we only have one guest at a time so we can be sure to provide constant support if that is needed for reassurance. We have decades of experience in providing reassurance and resolving the core of the anxiety. We will be please to tailor the day to your requirements and keep to your usual routines.
We will discuss with you what is the best way to manage communication while you are apart, and if you would like to keep in touch via phone, skype or prefer an email update with photos of the time here.
Adapt Lifestyle Studio:
Our Adapt Lifestyle Studio is a tranquil self-contained unit attached to the Lifestyle Lodge that offers increased privacy for guests as an alternative to having a room in the Lifestyle Lodge with us.
Overnight Respite Accommodation Breaks:
Take time out with us if you need a break from your usual routine or if your usual care arrangements need to change. Our Short-Term Accommodation Stays can be from 24 hours up to two weeks and including one to one support. This is a great opportunity to try some new activities and visit new or favourite places with us.
Counselling & Personal Development Breaks:
A mini break with us, away from it all, may be an excellent way to start focusing and planning your personal goals or problem solving issues.
David is passionate about working with people who have psychosocial disabilities drawing on his past experience and training as a mental health nurse and current experience as an accredited social worker. Previous guests who have communication difficulties or changes to brain function including dementia, neurodegenerative disease and brain injuries have benefitted from our counselling framework. Our philosophy is that everyone can benefit from feeling listened to, feeling understood and having something to work towards and look forward to.
Men often find it harder to adapt to living with changed health and life style circumstances. They often experience difficulty talking about their concerns on life or their hopes and fears for the future. At Adapt Lifestyle Support, David is experienced in working with men by supporting them to acknowledge their changing situation and explore how best to adapt to it. Using a solution focused approach, David works to build on your strengths.
48 hr Living Well with Younger Onset Dementia Assessment:
Our 48hr overnight assessment program had been developed from years of experience of conducting behavioural and lifestyle assessments. We know that an assessment that takes place in an hour or two may not allow sufficient time for observation and analysis of needs, coping behaviours and strengths. Assessment may occur within your home or the Adapt Lifestyle Lodge, including 24 – 48 hr overnight assessment stays.
Our fee for staying at Adapt Lifestyle Lodge includes all expenses in a 24-hours period; assistance with self-care, community access activities, accommodation, food and negotiated activities. Our fees are as listed in the NDIA Support Catalogue and you can see them now on our prices page.
